Help us activate our community’s future at Eighth & Eight Creative Spaces!
We are seeking artists and teachers with a community engaged practice to provide arts activities, including classes, workshops, creation processes, digital and in-person activities. Eighth and Eighth and Eight Creative Spaces are the new arts spaces in the Massey Theatre Complex in New Westminster with diverse and abundant spaces and equipment. This call represents multiple opportunities to activate community arts in the facility over the long term.
Activities should develop participation, enjoyment and appreciation of the arts while encouraging cross-cultural exchange and inclusive community building.
Paid opportunities will result for those selected.
To submit: Send us a short paragraph pitching either your proven or dream program! Tell us who you are, what you know about the arts and how you know it. What is your niche? What you are excited to do here and what you think is needed for the community! Send your pitch to firstname.lastname@example.org
Short listed submissions will be provided a fee to expand on the pitch and develop the logistics plan for delivering it. Ultimately, paid instructor or program leader positions will be offered to the final group.
We welcome applications from all visionaries however proven success with community instruction or facilitation will be viewed favorably. We encourage all candidates to share how they are positioned to positively engage with IBPOC, LGBTQ2+ and self-advocate community members.
